The
Alchemist is about the multidimensionality of a singular object. The
different perspective opening up new elements of the objects diverse
nature.
The
source form for The Alchemist is derived from the wire sculpture.
While photographing the sculpture I was fascinated by how the act of
photographing translated the initial object into two dimensional
images which appeared to be all different objects.
The
shift between the multi-dimensions formed the base for the rest of
the sculpture. Aligning the different two dimensional images and
combining them through illumination into an image between two and
three dimensionality. Creating a construction of which the entire
shape is derived from elements of the source form making an object of
different parts which reference their own body.
